Monitoring and alerting an AWS EC2 Ubuntu Instance Using Datadog Agent

Project Objective

To integrate an Ubuntu EC2 instance deployed on AWS with Datadog for:

• Infrastructure monitoring
• CPU usage tracking
• Memory monitoring
• Disk usage visibility
• Network metrics
• Log collection
• Alerting with Slack and Email

Architecture Overview

The Datadog agent runs inside the EC2 instance and sends metrics securely to Datadog servers.

Prerequisites

• Running an Ubuntu EC2 instance
• SSH access (Port 1980 in your case)
• Active Datadog account
• Datadog API Key
• Slack Channel
